History of ETEI, Patnagarh

As the land of teacher education programme Teachers Training Institution has a rich history before 1973. The Secondary Training school initially provided teacher training to local youths and promoting education in western Odisha. During that time, it played a vital role in spreading education and empowering teachers in primary education. Govt. ETEI, Patnagarh situated in the middle of the Patnagarh NAC which is coming under Bolangir district. Before the approval from the NCTE, it was coming under the directorate of the BSE odisha. The initial name of the institute was Headmaster Secondary Training School and from the year 2018 it changed to Govt. Elementary Teacher Education Institution. The first recognition from NCTE was during the year 1996-97 and the intake capacity was 50 up to the year 2001. Subsequently from the year 2013 the intake capacity increased to 100 and continuing till date. Institute has produced the prominent personality who are serving in central and state government in the field of teaching profession. This institute has an impact on the young youth of the local place as well as to the state of Odisha.

  • Action Research: Facilitating research initiatives for teachers, educators and trainees.
